Michael Newton Institute
After reading Journey of Souls by Dr Michael Newton, I felt a deep calling to do this work — to help others heal, raise spiritual consciousness, and help people reconnect with who they truly are.
But my path to becoming a hypnotherapist wasn’t simply academic or professional. It was deeply personal.
I know what it feels like to struggle. I know what it feels like to desperately want to change something about yourself, yet find yourself repeating the same patterns. And I also know the extraordinary feeling when something finally shifts and you realise: https://starthypnosisacademy.co.uk/helpful-info/
I don’t have to live like this anymore.
My journey with alcohol
Addiction has touched my family deeply. My mum — the most amazing person I’ve ever known — and my younger brother, a truly brilliant man, both passed away from alcohol-related causes.
I tried desperately to help them. Losing them left me heartbroken and searching for answers.
And for a long time, I found myself caught in some of the same patterns. Without realising it, I had unconsciously absorbed programmes and behaviours from the world I had grown up in.
Hypnotherapy became a major turning point for me.
Through several powerful sessions, something began to change at a much deeper level. The grip alcohol had once held over me weakened. The cravings, the internal battle and those old unconscious patterns began to fall away.
But perhaps the most important shift came when I stopped asking myself:
“Am I an alcoholic?”
I had never really identified with that label. Eventually I realised that I didn’t need to.
There was a far more important question:
“Will my life be better with alcohol or without it?”
For me, the answer became incredibly clear.
My life is better without alcohol.
Today, I am sober, and I genuinely love my alcohol-free life. I don’t feel that I’ve given something up. Quite the opposite. I feel that I’ve gained something back — myself.
That experience has had a profound influence on the way I now help others.
Since becoming alcohol-free, I’ve continued exploring what actually helps people change — combining hypnotherapy with mindfulness, meditation, behavioural change and everything I have learned through both my professional work and my own lived experience.
From this, I developed my Alcohol-Free Hypnotherapy Programme, normally delivered over three or four sessions.
The aim isn’t simply to tell you to stop drinking or expect you to fight yourself with willpower. We work with the unconscious patterns, beliefs, emotions and associations underneath the behaviour — helping you change your relationship with alcohol and build a life where you can feel genuinely free from it.
And you don’t necessarily need to decide whether you’re an “alcoholic” to make that change.
Perhaps you only need to ask:
“Would my life be happier, healthier and more fulfilling without alcohol?”
If something inside you already knows the answer, then change may be closer than you think.

Experience, training and a different approach to therapy
My approach today comes from an unusual combination of professional experience, extensive training and lived experience.
Before becoming a hypnotherapist, I spent more than 25 years working in healthcare, including as an NHS paramedic and physiotherapist. I’ve spent much of my working life helping people through difficult and vulnerable moments.
Since then, I’ve trained extensively in Hypnotherapy, NLP, EMDR, EFT, Reiki, Acupuncture, Past Life Regression, Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT), Quantum Consciousness, and with the Michael Newton Institute in Life Between Lives facilitation.
I also regularly attend Buddhist meditation retreats at Dhanakosa, continuing to deepen my understanding of meditation, consciousness and the nature of the mind.
But qualifications only tell you part of the story.
I haven’t simply studied transformation — I’ve had to live it.
That matters to me when I’m sitting opposite someone who is struggling.
My role isn’t to judge you, label you or tell you how you should live your life. It’s to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and help you access the part of yourself that already has the capacity to change.

Clinical and spiritual hypnosis
Today, my work has evolved beyond seeing individual clients. Alongside my clinical and spiritual hypnotherapy practice, I now train people to become professional hypnotherapists and Past Life Regression therapists.
I still love working one-to-one with clients — helping people overcome addictions, anxiety, fears, trauma, self-worth issues and other challenges. There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing someone who has struggled for years begin to realise that they are not their addiction, their anxiety, their trauma or their past. There is so much more to us than that.
But I also discovered another way I could make a difference: by teaching others to do this work.
I was honoured when the Michael Newton Institute specifically invited me to develop a hypnotherapy training programme designed to provide the foundations for those wishing to progress towards their Life Between Lives training.
My Beyond Hypnotherapy Diploma is now one of a small number of training pathways recognised by the Michael Newton Institute, as well as being professionally accredited through IACT (International Association of Counselors and Therapists).
For me, this is particularly meaningful. Michael Newton’s work was one of the reasons I became a hypnotherapist in the first place, so to now be training the next generation of therapists in alignment with the Institute’s work feels like my journey has come full circle.
Students learn both clinical hypnotherapy and Past Life Regression, giving them the skills to help people with a wide range of emotional and behavioural challenges while also exploring the deeper, spiritual dimensions of consciousness. For those who wish to take their spiritual hypnosis training further, the qualification provides a pathway towards applying for Life Between Lives training with the Michael Newton Institute.
So today, there are two ways you can work with me.
You can come to me as an individual client, whether you want to become alcohol-free, overcome anxiety or trauma, change an unwanted pattern, experience Past Life Regression or explore Life Between Lives.
Or, if you feel called to help others, you can train with me to become a hypnotherapist and Past Life Regression therapist — a deeply rewarding career where you can help people transform their lives while, for those drawn to spiritual work, helping them explore something much deeper about who they truly are.
Whether I am working with a client or teaching a future therapist, my purpose remains the same:
To help people heal, become free from what has been holding them back, and reconnect with who they truly are.
