Hypnosis is now considered by many to be one of the most effective ways to alleviate this horrible condition. The desire for a ‘hit’ of dopamine, coupled with a failure to gain instant gratification, may prompt users to perpetually refresh their social media feeds.
A paper in the Lancet looked at statistics, to do with anxiety. In 2008, 8.42% of women aged 18 to 24 suffered anxiety, the study found, more than trebling to 30.33% by 2018. The proportion of women aged 25 to 34 with anxiety more than doubled over that time, from 9.08% to 21.69%. Smaller increases among women aged 35 to 44 and 45 to 54. The figures for teenagers were even worse! Especially teenage girls. Social media is directly responsible for a massive increase in teenage suicide rates, according to ‘Social Dilemma’. The people who made this documentary, influential people who originally worked for and set up Google, Facebook, Instagram etc. They have all now resigned and refuse to let their children on social media. IS HYPNOTHERAPY SAFE?
Yes completely. I have been asked can a person get stuck in hypnosis? (Meet Danny) This is probably due to some Hollywood movies. The answer is a categorical no. Some people very rarely enjoy hypnosis so much they don’t want to come out of it…or in a large group are not aware of the ‘count up’, out of hypnosis. The ones that are enjoying too much will soon open their eyes, if you tell them they will never experience the wonders of hypnosis unless they open their eyes Now! The ones that didn’t hear the ‘count up’, you specifically say their name as you do the ‘count up’ (1-10) again.
In hypnosis you are not asleep. You are aware of all that I say, just relaxed and focused. Anxiety It’s as if you are having a doze on a lazy Sunday afternoon, with the radio on in the background…I’m the radio. And it does not matter one little bit if you pay attention to what in saying, or if you drift off…as in not talking to your conscious mind, but to your unconscious mind.
